Introducing the Whatcom County FAST-B Elementary School Group
Our upcoming Free 9-week Virtual FAST-B Caregivers Group may be for you if…
Your child is between the ages of 5-11 years old
You are looking for some extra support handling tough behaviors such as:
trouble staying on task during daily routines or homework
tantrums
annoying/attention seeking behavbiors
not following directions
arguing with adults
You are looking to connect with other parents/caregivers in the community who may be going through similar challenges
You want evidence-based strategies to support your child’s behavioral health
For parents in the thick of it, finding the right tips and strategies can be tough. Whether parents are looking for help with common (but difficult!) challenging behaviors, old strategies to manage don’t seem to be helping, or the new school year seems to have brought on some new challenges, FAST-B provides strategies and support for parents to learn new ways to provide support and effectively use consequences that help.
Our upcoming group begins Sept. 22 and meets virtually every Tuesday for 9 weeks at 6 p.m.

What is FAST-B?
First Approach Skills Training for Behavior (FAST-B) was developed by psychologists at Seattle Children’s Hospital. It is an evidence-based intervention to support parents in effectively responding and decreasing challenging behaviors through building strong parent-child relationships, encouraging positive behaviors, and setting appropriate boundaries.

What if my child has been diagnosed with ADHD/ODD/Disruptive Behavior Disorder? Could this still help?
Yes! FAST-B was designed by Seattle Children’s as a “first step” approach to help with these diagnoses. Families helped by FAST-B include children with diagnoses of ADHD, ODD, Adjustment Disorder, Disruptive Behavior disorder, or no diagnosis at all.
That sounds great! How do I get started?
